The fifth day of the Trans Agulhas will from now on be known as the Marius Nel Day 5 of the Trans Agulhas.
Marius Nel is a little boy from Paarl who lost his life after a severe battle with cancer. Marius loved Hermanus, the sea and the wales. In his short life of just under 10 years, he accomplished more than most people have in a lifetime. His pure and beautiful relationship with Jesus, his trust in Him and his wisdom will be remembered forever.
This little boy was a peacemaker, loved people and gave hope. He always asked his dad to "braai" just to get him to invite people over. He would then run up to his dad every now and then ask/tell him: "Is dit nie nou lekker nie, Pappa?" ("Isn't this very nice, Dad?")
Marius Nel will be remembered as a little warrior, the best brother, a beautiful and loving son and dear friend and child. His example of how to follow Jesus in the good and bad times is not only a testimony of his home, but also of how we should believe in Christ and follow Him.
We know that you are so happy in heaven and your family and friends can't wait to meet again. Thank you for the legacy you left. We will never ever forget you.
